Instrutora Agora (Rhea Yap) likes to get things done “now”. Her capoeira training began in 2003 under Mestre Marisa. In addition to capoeira, she has a background in martial arts (taekwondo) and dance (ballet and jazz) dating back to childhood. She has traveled to study capoeira with other masters of capoeira in the west coast, midwest and abroad (i.e. Brasil of course, Asia and Europe).
Instrutora Agora has been co-teaching capoeira classes for children since 2008. In her approach to teaching, Instrutora Agora likes to combine discipline and structure with fun and creativity. She strongly believes that students – regardless of age – develop at their own pace, have different talents and learning styles. What she loves about capoeira is that there is always something to learn.
Instrutora Agora also works with a team of fellow dedicated volunteers to support Mestre Marisa to run the organization.
